Only Scoobies 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
This has got me wondering being as its Subaru only, how many cars would it take to create some sort of record. ie one make of car on one day in the same area, as we are Gathering in numbers would it be possible to set a record ??

DeeDee there were discussions about this a while back.

The world record of the largest static gathering of cars of the same brand/manufacturer is held by the fiat 500 club where they had 500 cars in Italy.
UK wise the record is held by Ferrari where they had 385 cars at Silverstone.

I think this will get looked into nearer the time and if interest in the event stays as it is I think we would be able to break these records.

We'll need to get the people from Guinness Book of Records along to validate/witness this before it can be counted

So Guinness book of records are going to be there? Great to be able to achieve a world record! So looking forward to being in the company of the Subaru community.

Guinness are wanting £2000 to authenticate the record attempt

At the moment it is unknown wether we will pay this as it detracts from the overall total raised. With this in mind we are lookin at obtaining sponsership in some form or another to make the record and not cost the event fund a penny

Hope this helps

Grant

Grant, why not email everyone on the mail list for an extra £2.50 that would cover the costs of the guiness people to attend ?
havent ordered my sticker yet but am sure folks would pay the extra christ its only a few quid on top and it might be a worlds record. might add a few coffers into the fund also

As it's for charity shouldn't the record people look to waive their fee? I'm sure that if it were to get out that they were charging £2000 for a charity event verification that it wouldn't look good for them!
