Tribute poster to Colin 2 Months, 1 Week ago
Hello everyone

Following the tragic death of Colin back in September last year, I felt a enormous need to do something to celebrate the life of the best of the best and in my opinion the greatest rally driver of them all. So I have been working on a tribute poster over the last 4 months to celebrate Colin's life with the intention of donating it to the McRae family on the Sunday of the gathering to auction to raise money for Colin's designated charity the Jerviswood Trust.

The poster is sized at A2 and features a written bibliography of his life and achievements, 4 side view renderings of Colin's WRC cars including his 1995 WRC winning car, his 1998 WRC 2 door impreza, Focus WRC and Citreon WRC and a montage image of Colin competing in Australia which the photographer has kindly given me the original image to use on this product.

This poster has been a lot of hard work so far and its production is still ongoing, but below is a visual image to give you some idea of what the poster is going to look like. I am going to present this to the McRae family and Campbell in the near future for approval and hopefully I can also get permission to include Colin's signature on it too. This poster will at present be a one off, created specifically to raise money on the day for Colin's Charity and will be extremely rare as I am only going to produce one of them, even if by the end of it it will have taken me 5 months to produce!!!!!!!

I don't know what you all think about this project and your feedback would be greatly appreciated, but when its finished I believe it will be a fitting visual tribute to a great person and fantastic rally driver and also assist in raising as much money for Colin's charity as possible.

If anyone has any pictures of Colin holding his WRC trophy or any images of colin's Subaru or Ford drivers helmets which I would like to include on this poster if you can email them to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it then that would be great.

see you all on sunday!

Hi Tony

First of all thank you for a tremendous gesture.

Secondly, regarding getting a copy of the print up to Lanark for approval. Unfortunatly i wont be near South Wales in the near future but i am putting some feelers out in my work to see if the item can be collected by any of the trunk drivers. I will email you back if anyone is heading near your area for you to hand over a proof copy for approval. Another suggestion if no one comes forward for that particuler area is to ship the item up with DHL International, i will personally deliver the item before Noon and could possibly hang about for approval to be given and the item recollected.
www.interparcel.com will gove you a competitive quote for shipping with DHL. Take the insurance for extra peice of mind but i can pretty much guarentee that the item would be safe to transport through the DHL network if packaged securley.

Hope this helps and if the possibilty of me getting from Galsgow to South Wales to ensure safe collection occurs then i will be in touch asap

Thanks again

Grant

I think tony's idea of creating this tribute poster is a cracking one,but instead of just making one could we not(after approval from all parties)make 100's of prints from the original and sell on the weekend making loads more money for the charities, don't know about cost/price though!

Hi sonicblue 74f

Once you hear how much Tony's previous examples of Prodrive artwork have sold for i think you will realise the importance of keeping this particular item unique.

We are looking into getting a unique print made up that can be sold as a reminder of the day on site but the item that Tony is producing and donating will be kept seperate and auctioned along with some other extremely unique items obtained for the day

Hope this helps

Grant

Thanks for the feedback on this product guys, its good to know that this idea will be well received on the day.

Having donated 2 posters of the P2 at Prodrive last year in which they both proved enormously successful indeed (I am still getting queries on obtaining copies regularly), I am prepared to offer everyone 2 versions of this celebratory print which will be auctioned off during the charity day at Prodrive in August.

One is as per the original shown above, but the other is slightly different and is shown below and this one includes all Colin's WRC and other rally cars in which he competed so successfully.

Cheers

tony
